Dream Horses!

Any kid who loves horses will agree that the best gift they could receive would be, well a HORSE! I was very lucky this past year to see two of my students purchase their dream horses.

Lets start with Rigley and Reagan, if you look back in the category of “Riding in Europe” you will find stories of Rigley. Let me tell you he is one special horse and I owe him a lot. Rigley gave me much needed confidence moving up in height, he was that horse that you never had to question or doubt. I think I can count his refusals with one hand. When my student was looking to move to the horse world from her pony, only one guy came to mind. She started leasing him and the improvements were overwhelming. This past fall Reagan was given the surprise of her life when she came to the barn to find Rigley in his stall with a red ribbon saying “hug me I am yours”. Congratulations to Reagan and the entire family, I look forward to years of coaching you and Rigley!

Now when Reagan moved on to the next level of horse she left behind one amazing pony. Awake and Dreaming or Rose as we called her was a large Morgan pony that had no lack of personality or skill. Its a tough transition for any kid to give up their pony and best friend but its not so bad when you know your pony is going to the best possible home! Ella (another one of my students) is the new and proud owner of Rose. Already she is jumping higher, riding better, and more attatched than you could imagine. Ella spent the final summer days last year laying out in the pasture with Rose and riding when ever it was possible. Ella and Rose are looking to move up levels in thier pony club and at the same time maybe hit some more jumping shows (Ella and Roses prefference). I really look forward to helping these two out in the future…

Peterman To Help Brooks Pony Club In 2012

Brooks Alberta, The Brooks Pony Club held thier AGM to discuss the direction of the club in 2012. One decision lead to naming Lyle Peterman of Olds Alberta the clubs jumping advisor. Lyle is now scheduled to teach one (2 day) clinic a month to help the club with it’s jumping program. “I made the trip down a few times for clinics in 2011 and felt that all the club members benifited from the extra help and made improvents” said Peterman. “I  am really excited to continue working them on regular basis” Lyle enjoys teaching clinics across the province and hopes to be even more busy with clinics in 2012. “I have a few scheduled in Lethbridge, and talks with a barn near Edmonton” If your club or barn wishes to organize a jumping clinic in 2012 email equestrianplanet@gmail.com for more details.

All The Best In 2012!

All The Best In 2012!

Happy New Year to you and your horses! As 2011 comes to end and 2012 begins people are busy making their resolutions. I believe as equestrians we should do the same. Take this holiday time to decide what your goals are for your own riding and for your horses development.

Now resolutions are not the easiest things to keep so I thought I would post some of mine on the web, this way I will not forget them.

1) To grow my business and client base for both training horses, students, and clinics.

2) For my mare Ladiana to jump in the 1.30m division successfully.

3) To take more time to simply enjoy my horses and the lifestyle of being an equestrian.

4) To volunteer more in the Alberta equestrian industry, and to help organizations like the Canadian Warmbloods grow and continue to build a world wide reputation.

5) The BIG ONE. To grow Equestrian Planet.com

I challenge you to write down your 2012 horse plans and then figure out a way to make them work!

All the best in 2012!

Lyle.
