Cactus Farms Lesson Program

Starting again in the spring of 2012 Cactus Farms in Olds Alberta is excited to welcome back its lesson program. Although many of last years students will be returning there is room for more. The lesson program is taught by head trainer Lyle Peterman who has been teaching riders in central Alberta for the past 3 years. Students of all levels are welcome to either come and improve their english and jumping skills or simply learn to ride. Here are some facts about the program:

Location: Cactus Farms is located 5 minutes north west of Olds, Alberta on 70th avenue. All lessons are outdoors and subject to weather cancellation.

What to bring: All level of riders are welcome, bring your own horse or use a lesson horse. Cactus Farms will also supply tack. Riders need to bring proper riding (boots, helmets, ect.)

Skill Level: We have beginner riders of all ages. There are also competitve riders that are already competing at places like Spruce Meadows, and Rocky Mountain Show Jumping.

The learn to ride program: Gain a great experience and possibly discover a life long passion. All ages are welcome. You or your child can sign up for as many or as few lessons as desired. Lessons will take an hour and will be one on one instruction. Learn more than just riding as you discover horse care and other skills necessary for being an equestrian.

Peterman To Help Brooks Pony Club In 2012

Brooks Alberta, The Brooks Pony Club held thier AGM to discuss the direction of the club in 2012. One decision lead to naming Lyle Peterman of Olds Alberta the clubs jumping advisor. Lyle is now scheduled to teach one (2 day) clinic a month to help the club with it’s jumping program. “I made the trip down a few times for clinics in 2011 and felt that all the club members benifited from the extra help and made improvents” said Peterman. “I  am really excited to continue working them on regular basis” Lyle enjoys teaching clinics across the province and hopes to be even more busy with clinics in 2012. “I have a few scheduled in Lethbridge, and talks with a barn near Edmonton” If your club or barn wishes to organize a jumping clinic in 2012 email equestrianplanet@gmail.com for more details.
